Are the fields defined as Input or Both? Mike Wills IT Corporate Support MNWills@taylorcorp.com -----Original Message----- From: Jim Langston [mailto:jimlangston@conexfreight.com] Sent: Tuesday, June 26, 2001 1:59 PM To: RPG400-L@midrange.com Subject: Read subfile without clearing screen? I have a subfile in a separate display file (Str002FN) as the rest of the screen (Str002FM). I am able to show both the subfile and the standard screen (S1) with no problems, and read from the standard screen with a simple read. The series of events goes something like write SflHead (From Str002FN) write SflCtrl (From Str002FN) write Str002FM read Str002FM Now, I have enabled a function key (F20) for the users to be able to select a subfile record. That's where my problem lies. If I do a read SflCtl instead of Str002FM, the screen gets blanked except for the subfile display. I've also tried Read Str002FN with the same results. I tried ExFmt SflCtl with same results also. How do I prevent the screen from repainting on the read statement?
