Hi Troy, The job switches correspond to indicators U1 - U8 in RPG. The old fashioned way of having user-controlled open's for files in RPG was to specify one of these indicators on the F-spec. Also, the program can use these indicators to determine various actions just like any other indicator, e.g. IF *INU1 = *OFF... What kind of error are you getting? hth, Peter Dow Dow Software Services, Inc. 909 425-0194 voice 909 425-0196 fax ----- Original Message ----- From: <Troy.C.Dills@blum.com> To: <rpg400-l@midrange.com> Sent: Tuesday, July 10, 2001 9:02 AM Subject: Switches > Hello all > > Could someone please help me understand how the switch is controlling the program it is submitting, I understand the > flipping of the switches to make them true or false (that is my case anyway).
