Try your favorite PC DOS or Unix command for creating a Directory.

Like MD
or
MKDIR

Key either one on an AS/400 command line and press F4. See, You had PC
file systems all along and didn't know it.

Now key in WRKLNK and take a look. It's the same stuff as from Windows
explorer

A couple of things, /QOpenSys is a real Unix file system with 256 byte
names and CaSe SenStiVity
/QDLS enforces the PC 8.3 naming rule.
BTW, the AS/400 recoginizes both / forward slashes, and \ Backwards
slashes and allow you to use either.

Recently there has been a lot of talk about IFS. Could someone possibly
give me a high level explanation of what this is and the benefits?
