I believe using CALL in a SBMJOB  is a recognized problem.  At least I
recognize it.  The only solution I've heard is to replace the call with a
CMD object.  I've had some luck doing the CALL by removing the numerics but
I'm told that this too can be unreliable.  So, in answer to your question,
replace the numeric with a character representation which you'll have to
convert at both ends of the call, or try replacing the call with a command
object.
