And that's a darn > shame. :( Personally, I'd love to use a good PC-based RPG editor. I tried Code Studio for a while, when it was in beta, and there was no way I'd ever have got my employers to pay for it. Then when CODE/400 was being touted on these lists, I tried to find and download a trial version. I don't remember the details, but I either couldn't find the download on IBM's site, or it wouldn't install when I got it. I think the former. Now that I have access to a machine at V5R1, I find that, somewhere under /QIBM. there is a whole directory tree where CODE/400 and the other PC-based tools should be -- without a single file in them. All I want is a setup.exe, y'know? But when I went looking for installation instructions in the InfoCenter or elsewhere, all I could find was "put the WebSphere Development Tools CD in your PC's drive..." Not that I can't go to our Ops department and get the CD, but should _every developer_ have to do that? If they even know about the tools in the first place? Personally, I don't do much RPG these days, being more involved in Java; but if the tools aren't easy to find and install, people aren't going to be encouraged to use them. Make them easy to get, and people will use them.
