In fact, I do not retreive it. It is stored in a file that is maintained
trought an RPG program (the user enter the IP address associated with a device)

Hi,

Split it in four numeric parts, and concatenate these with dots after having
used %EditC (with suppression of leading zeros !) on them.

BTW... how do you get an IP-address of 12 numeric ? (all API's deliver it
either correctly formatted or as 32bit integer).

Kind regards,
Paul

Subject: EDTWRD for IP adress

Hello all,

I have a field that holds an IP address (numeric 12 digits). I want to
display/print it as 999.999.999.999

I tought I'd used the edit word EDTWRD(' . . . ')

But this does not work because the "." is considered the decimal separatior.

Is there an easy way to format an IP address on a report?

thanks
