Only for data that you intend to use! <grin>
In all seriousness,   e v e r y   s i n g l e   i n p u t   into your system
should have a sanity check done on it.  THAT's a lesson that 20+ years in
the business has taught me.  If there's a way to fung up an application,
it's to let the user input whatever they feel like (including honest
mistakes.)  If it seems like a lot of work, consider the cleanup required to
keep the application internally consistent after the fact.
