To get you started, you may want to look at the OS/400 System API
Programming manual and in particular the chapter Machine Interface
Programming.  There are examples of calling the API from both CL and MI.

Has anyone experience of the Create Program (QPRCRTPG) API?  In
particular how and what do I specify in the 'Intermediate representation
of the program' and 'Option template' parameters?
