More on the problems I'm having with SQL CLOSE CURSOR in an SQLRPGLE
program (original post to this thread posted on the newsgroup):

If I display the subfile (populated using embedded SQL), then exit the
program before doing anything else (F3=exit now), no problem - the files
are left closed.

ODD:
If I display the subfile, DON'T make a selection and instead redisplay the
subfile, files are left open after the subfile redisplay.
If I display the subfile, make a selection, redisplay the subfile - the
files are left open after the redisplay.

REALLY ODD:
If I display the subfile, DON'T make a selection and instead redisplay the
subfile, END the program, restart the program, display the subfile - the
files are left OPEN.

REALLY REALLY ODD:
If I display the subfile, DON'T make a selection and instead redisplay the
subfile, END the program, SIGN OFF, SIGN ON, restart the program, display
the subfile - the files are left OPEN.

REALLY REALLY REALLY ODD:
If I display the subfile, DON'T make a selection and instead redisplay the
subfile, END the program, SIGN OFF, SHUT DOWN THE CLIENT ACCESS SESSION,
START ANOTHER CA SESSION (same WSID QPADEV0004), SIGN ON, restart the
program, display the subfile - the files are left OPEN.
