We had the very same request at my company, we wanted the sub-lists to appear as soon as the mouse was moved over the list headings. We tried many things and anything that involved processing on the server side was rejected due to speed. Eventually we settled on hard-coding the list items in a block of JavaScript. Database access was just too slow. Not nice but it works. Have a look at http://www.javascript.com for ideas. --__--__-- Message: 15 Subject: RPG GUI Question To: RPG400-L@midrange.com From: THarteau@felkerbrothers.com Date: Wed, 20 Nov 2002 08:10:34 -0600 Reply-To: rpg400-l@midrange.com Hi, I have been looking at CGI web sites, but am getting more confused. I need to write an RPG application with a GUI front end. It will display a list and when the user selects and entry, another list is displayed, then another. This is done to minimize keying and may end up on a touch screen. I was thinking of trying CGI, but haven't been able to determine if it could do something like this. We also have WebSphere installed, but I don't think it is set up. Any suggestions on how I can do this? Thanks! <===================================================> Terri Harteau Felker Brothers Corporation **************** "There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes." - Dr. Who ****************
