Initially there are no records written to the subfile. This subfile is a
load all of 400 max and 4 per screen. It is a Purchase Order entry screen
where the user types however many lines they need press enter the RPG Does
error checking and away we go...
below is a what the screen looks like now... I put the zeros and Xs in the
entry fields.... Right now I am having to increment the sequence number 1
-400 in the program. It is wasting too much time doing this and I was
looking for a way to speed up the process. What I failed to mention in my
original post is that this screen is being used through a screen scraping
program that is allowing the user to see more than the 4 lines they see on
the green screen. The problem is that it needs something to be unique on
every page to work correctly.

There are no records in the subfile? Then what fields are being changed?
The other question I have is about the RPG cycle. It looks to me like you
plan to have an event-based event instead of a cycle-based event. May I
ask
how that will happen?
