I had already tried initializing <line#> and it generated this compiler
error:

*RNF3723 20      1 Keyword is not allowed for subfield in a file information
data structure; keyword is ignored.

        * * * * *   E N D   O F   M E S S A G E   S U M M A R Y   * * * * *

Nor are you allowed to initialize at the DS level (syntax error).  Have I
missed something in your post?

The problem here is that the DS has not been initialized, so the subfield
line#
has the value x'4040' = 16448 decimal.  But since you defined it as type B
instead of type I or type U, RPG limits it to 4 digits.

Add Inz to the DS spec for PrntDS.
