You can force the records to disk with OVRDBF FILE(filename)You were doing fine until you hit the part quoted above. FRCRATIO(1) forces the data not only to be written to the file but also the file pages in memory to be written to the disk. This is a much bigger performance hit than what is needed to make the records visible in the file.
FRCRATIO(1). This will tell the system to force any output to disk immediately. The consequence is that you take a performance
hit.
