Creating a cursor result set

Second try, eh?

In RPG, I am creating a result set to return to Java.

c/exec sql include sqlca                                        
c/end-exec                                                      
                                                                
c/exec sql declare resultSet cursor for                         
c+ select system_table_name,system_table_schema from systables  
c/end-exec                                                      
                                                                
c/exec sql open resultSet                                       
c/end-exec                                                      
                                                                
c/exec sql                                                      
c+ set result sets cursor resultSet                             
c/end-exec                                                      
                                                                
c/exec sql close resultSet                                      
c/end-exec                                                      
                                                                 
If I exit the program and close the cursor, I get an "invalid cursor state."
If I leave the cursor open, I can read the entire result set.

The question: Should I be using CLI instead?  Any opinions on adding a
'shutdown' parameter and calling the SP again to close the cursor?
