5 pin is also played in some parts of the US - mostly border areas.

The one thing that Hans didn't say is that it is a _lot_ harder than 10 pin.
In alleys where they have both 5 and 10 pin there is at least one perfect
game a month on the 10 pin side of the house.  It is not unusual for the 5
pin side to only see one perfect game a year.  One local alley recently had
their first perfect game in 7 years!
