Hi,

When I write C code, I can easily add debug tests to catch 'impossible' cases, such as calling a function that expects a non-null pointer:

assert(ptr != NULL);

If the expression is false, assert prints a message indicating where in the code the failure occurred, and the nature of the failure. It also aborts the program.

Is there any built in assert functionality in ILE RPG? If not, how could I best implement my own?

Thank you.

Regards,
Rich
