I think there is an easier way to find out what you are looking for.
In the INFDS data area for the display file there is a variable which
contains the subfile record number which is currently the top record
displayed. As the user presses PAGEUP and PAGEDOWN this values changes.
It is in positions 378-379 and is a binary value.

Subject: Reg: counting the number of times key was pressed.
Hrishikesh,
Are you talking about an equiv subfile(SFLSIZ = SFLPAG) where you
load the
subfile based on the key pressed. Well, i'm not using the equiv
subfile
concept in my program.
To give the exact picture of my problem, i have loaded a subfile
where
SFLSIZ in not equal to SFLPAG. Based on the record that is seen by
the user
i have to load another subfile when a funtion key is pressed, the
issue is
that there is no input field in both the subfiles. Eg: If the user
presses
the function key while viewing record number 4,5 & 6 i should load
the other
subfile with some details for those records(4,5 & 6). If i can
count the
number of times the page up or page down keys are pressed i would be
able to
calculate the record number to load the other subfile.
Suggestion Plz.
Thanks
