Not sure why your printer file won't compile without more details, but the way we print barcode labels on Zebras is to use a printer file with one field which is 132 characters and then populate that field with the ZPL by reading a physical file with the ZPL already coded and inserting the dynamic data into the ZPL using RPG before writing to the spooled file.
