I think this has been a very convincing demonstration that the possibility
of inadvertently introducing errors exists whatever the choice of syntax.

"Easier"? "Harder"? These are in the mind of the beholder. We all have our
opinions, subject, of course, to change over time. So far, I still prefer
the longer syntax. . . .
