I think this has been a very convincing demonstration that the possibility of inadvertently introducing errors exists whatever the choice of syntax. ;-) "Easier"? "Harder"? These are in the mind of the beholder. We all have our opinions, subject, of course, to change over time. So far, I still prefer the longer syntax. . . .
