Mike: Your major problem is that the "messages" you're after probably will _not_ be in the QHST message queue. Most likely they'll be in one of the QHSTxxx physical files in QSYS, and there they won't be "messages" but just records. No "API" needed, just open the files and read them. The secondary problem is flushing messages that _might_ still be in the QHST message queue out to the PFs. I vaguely recall that a technique exists for this, but I'm no longer certain what it was. Maybe something like execution of DSPLOG caused the flush, but not sure. Perhaps this will jog memories from someone else, perhaps experimentation is in order, or perhaps it's documented.
