Eric, >Rick, as I recall it, the real need for *INZSR came from the RESET opcode, Long before that, I thought *INZSR was great for establishing values for first page headings. Things like the current time, company / division names, etc. If you were using the cycle and did *not* have any input records, *INZSR still ran and you'd get full headings. When triggered by EXSR on the first record, you needed a test at LR time to see if you needed to call the setup routine to populate the heading fields. Doug
