This might work.
Create a pointer that points to the first field in the file. then create a
data structure that is like your files record format and base it on the
pointer.
D recPtr * Inz(%addr(firstField))
D recDs ds likerec(RecordFormat)
D based(recPtr)
I haven't tried it but I use a method like this to convert a series of
fields into an array. It should work for the whole record.
btw. Defining recDs with likerec() with automagically make it qualified.

"Or, do you mean that the fields are being used in other data structures?"
Yes. I am using fields in other data structures to handle months
quantities,
quarters quantities, etc. This is an update file; when I do my calcs using
these
fields, which facilitate my life a lot, I just have to UPDATE.
This program is working fine. The problem I am trying to present is, when
I
DEBUG, I want to be able to display the whole record layout with the fields
and
values of them at that precise time. I saw this accomplished on the data
definitions specifications when defining a data structure but I can't
recall...
We are in V5R2...
