Here's how I do it:
In the DDS
A 59 SFLDROP(CF04)
A SFLMODE(&SFLMODE)
(no other reference to CF04 in the DDS)
In the RPG
// Display file indicator data structure
d Wsindds ds
d SflNonDsply 50 50n
d SflEnd 51 51n
d SflNxtChg 55 55n
d SflBadOption 56 56n
d SflDrop 59 59n
..... at initialization
SflDrop = *on;
..... after EXFMT
eval SflDrop = SflMode;
..... to determine how many records on a page(page at a time
subfile)
if SflDrop;
SflPage = SFLPAG;
else;
SflPage = SFLPAG / 2;
endif;
