You are forgetting nothing, except that the space between fields is required
by the 5250 data stream.  The space is populated by field attribute
information, if memory serves me correctly.  If you need the data to be
adjacent, you need to create one field on the screen and concatenate any
fields you wish to be adjacent.  That becomes a problem if they are input
capable, of course.

How do you get adajacent fields in DDS. It seems to like a space between the
ending positions but then there is a space during execution. I am forgetting
something obvious I expect.
