Of course, since the question pertains to DDS and not RPG, there's confusion on 
both sides.

The other confusion is that this is exactly what's supposed to happen because 
*blank is not greater than 'A'. You coded COMP GT 'A' and then tried to enter 
something less than 'A' and got the message.

The message is telling you that you're not supposed to enter something less 
than 'A', such as a *blank. It's telling you it has to be greater than 'A'. 
Since it's working exactly as it's supposed to work, nobody can figure out what 
question you're asking.

It seems that you might be asking how to code DDS to allow either characters 
greater than 'A' or a *blank. Is that what you want?
