yes, a very good case... but that would also require enforcing a company
standard to always use it too (not a bad idea either, but sometimes it's
not possible).

i would be happy with a DEFINEBY(filename) file spec keyword.  That would
work just dandy for me.

In fact, that's exactly what I would have guessed the extfile keyword was
for, before reading the manual.

I can't think of very many instances where I could have used extfile, that
couldn't be done nicely (and more flexibly) with ovrdbf.
