Rob,
 As a person looking to become a more skilled programmer, I would highly
recommend reading on the subject.  Steve McConnell's book, Code Complete,
while not related to RPG, provides an excellent starting point for
understanding good programming practices in general, which can be applied
easily to RPG and ILE coding.  I believe that he has a new version out,
which I have, unfortunately, not yet been able to get my hands on.

The same things which are bad in every other procedural language.  I'm
afraid that generic questions will get generic answers (if answered at
all.)  Is there something more specific you're looking to find out?
