Unless you are still using array to do sub-file programming, you action is conflicting with your statement. If subfile is, as you mentioned, hard to understand/learn, IBM should have not introduced it into RPG and we should continue using array for sub-file screen. I don't know about you, but I sure do not want that. It is hard only because you are not using it everyday. RPG programmers, including me, are so use to fix form that free-form looks confusing to us. However, I think if we start to use it, it will become natural to us. -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Jderham2@xxxxxx Sent: Sunday, May 16, 2004 6:47 AM To: rpg400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Compile error when using field in a subfield data structure In a message dated 5/12/2004 12:49:07 PM Eastern Daylight Time, rob@xxxxxxxxx writes: > Some people just don't want to learn... > I bet when they came from a S/36 to the S38 or iSeries they didn't want to > adopt this subfile thingy either.
