How about without the case-statement:
C/EXEC SQL
C+ Declare cur1 cursor for
C+ Select * from filea
C+ Where (:Parm1 = '>' and Field1 > :testfield)
C+ or (:Parm1 = '>=' and Field1 >= :testfield)
C+ or (:Parm1 = '<=' and Field1 <= :testfield)
etc.
C/END-EXEC
I couldn't test this, so I can't guarantee it...worth a try, though.
