But more to the point, if you can use a horizontal bar chart, with each bar in a single color, how about setting up a character field of the appropriate color, then populating it with hex '1F' characters? Or some other character, like asterisks or pound signs, if your terminal or emulator doesn't render hex '1F' as a "semigraphics" block? Or if that doesn't work for you, how about defining the field with a "reverse image" attribute, then populating it with spaces, with a hex '20' after the last cell in the bar? Or if you need multiple colors in each bar, a variation: insert the appropriate reverse image attributes (hex '21' for green, hex '23' for white, hex '29' for red [which will blink on a monochrome terminal], hex '31' for cyan, hex '33' for yellow, hex '39' for pink, and hex '3B' for blue) into the field. (Note that there will be a single black cell at each color change.) -- JHHL
