Actually, you're right -- I'm confused. I'm getting %status mixed
up with "errno" -- the variable that you check to find out what went wrong
in C programs/functions.

Though, the docs say that %STATUS returns the "most recent value set" for
program or file status, which makes me think that if you don't specify (E)
that it may not reset it to zero.  But I haven't tested that...
