Working as designed..... Nullable date fields must still (as always) have a valid date value in them. The fact that the null indicator is set means nothing unless you implement the code to treat the field as null. Eric DeLong Sally Beauty Company MIS-Project Manager (BSG) 940-898-7863 or ext. 1863 -----Original Message----- From: Titus Kruse [mailto:T_Kruse@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, September 02, 2004 2:34 AM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: AW: Record with external defaults No! It does not work. Even when I specify for a date field in DDS DFT(*NULL), the field was initialized in RPG with *SYS (current date). And because the subfields of the data structure in RPG don't have any null-indicators, the RESET operation cannot set them to null. After the following WRITE operation to the file, date fields have the current date with null indicator off. :-( > -----Ursprungliche Nachricht----- > Von: rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]Im Auftrag von Titus Kruse > Gesendet: Donnerstag, 2.
