Are you writing the records to the physical file? If so, the RPG program is holding the records in a buffer until they fill its calculated block size. Some of the alternatives include using FEOD in the RPG program, changing FRCRATIO on the file, or writing the records to a logical file. The latter is what we generally do here as we discovered it's much faster than the alternatives. Hope that helps. Donald R. For instance the program wrote several records to the file at 5:50 AM, but we couldn't see the records until after 7:30 AM. <clip>
