I would suggest to run programmes, written in RPG IV, to run in a named activation group (AG). The exception is service programmes. All the *SRVPGM run in one AG: I would name it SRVICES. Only the need for batch jobs to run in different AGs beats me, so I stick to the default, QILE. Just my thoughts.
