Chris: array = '100', '220', '300', '400', '500' hash = (100 * 1) + (220 * 2) + (300 * 3) + (400 * 4) + (500 * 5) = 5540 array = '100', '200', '300', '410', '500' hash = (100 * 1) + (200 * 2) + (300 * 3) + (410 * 4) + (500 * 5) = 5540 Two different arrays, same hash. Ooops. How big a field are you storing this in? How about simply concating the array entries. Or if you need something smaller, concat the array entries and then get a MD5 hash of that. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President & CEO Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
