Correct, and I use CSRLOC as well, especially when using multiple subfiles or a scrolling subfile. Every technique has a tradeoff. For me, not getting a phone call from a frustrated user that can't figure out why the prompt function won't work offsets the possibility of forgetting to change the internally defined cursor positions. If my users numbered in the teens instead of the thousands, I'd probably change my mind. Happy New Year! Donald R. Just need to populate the row and col fields in CSRLOC before you exfmt. I hate using cursor positions for this. Guess what you need to do if you happen to move everything down a line. Programmer tends to forget to do that. All the sudden the decode is not working. <clip>
