You can call the stored procedure from RPG (either with the SQL CALL command
or a normal program call) - but you can't access the result set with
embedded SQL.

You need to use the SQL Call Level Interface (CLI) APIs rather than embedded
SQL to be able to do this in RPG.. 

(This is a major weakness in my opinion..)
