> I have started to create prototyped procedures > but not service programs > > What are the differences (Coding, Calling, Compiling) While the list may be able to get you a brief synopsis, my very strong advice is to visit the ILE Concepts book in the Infocentre at http://www.iseries.ibm.com/infocenter Once you have the basics (from the list) you should read the Concepts and perhaps the RPG Redbook (same URL.) It won't make a tremendous amount of sense until you actually create your first bound module and first service program. Once you do that, make changes and add a procedure to the service program. Then re-read the ILE Concepts. It'll make much more sense after you've experienced ILE. --buck
