Dear all,
I have read in the manual that there are basically 4 ways
of ending an RPG program that do not use a primary file
Those are
1 By setting the LR indicator on
2 By setting the RT indicator on
3 By setting an H1 through H9 indicator on
4 By specifying the RETURN operation code
Frankly, I haven't used anything except setting LR on. But
I would like to consider using others too wherever appropriate.
Can anyone please explain the difference between each of
these, in two perspectives?
1. How OS/400 handles them or difference in the way they
are handled
2. When should a programmer choose to use LR, RT, H1-H9 or
RETURN?
I delved into the past mails exchanged in this forum to
find if any thing like this has been discussed before. But could
not find any.
Thanks In anticipation,
S.Chand
