ArrayToPass is a fixed length field ?

No. The temporary is only used when the variable doesn't match the prototype. In this case, your variable DOES match the prototype, so it won't use a temporary, it'll pass the address of the caller's array.

Because you placed options(*VARSIZE) on the prototype, it also doesn't have to be the same number of elements.
