I always figured that julian date was YYDDD but someone offlist recently
reported to me that there is really some long complicated formula that
Excel and others use; and it does not really mean that. However, you
could use something like
mychar=%char(%date():*jul0)+
%char(%subdt(%date():*years))+
%editc(RelNbr:'X');
dsply mychar;
