Oh, I'm sure the shelf life will be great. But I think sometimes the popularity of a technology is confused with the actual number using it at a given time. PDiddy made Courvoisier popular, but at 150 bucks a bottle, how many people really drink it. :) (and it's actually the "cheap congac" of the "good congacs"). My question is, when a "new exiting" flavor comes along, or another new technology not necisarily replacing XML comes along, is that also going to be implemented into RPG? Yourself and others have proven RPG already has the technology to work with XML, mainly with ILE. Now, I know there are things that would make that easier (overloading may be one of them). So which would you rather have? Even with the XML tools added, one still needs to know XML and how it works. It's not a magic wand.
