Thanks for the all the info.  We'll give it a try.

Assuming that you are talking about a virtual device using some kind oftelnet session, if the suggestions already given don't meet your needs orlook like overkill, you can take a look at my FAQ page about this:

The sample code is CL, but it can easily be converted to RPG.
