Ok. That much I know ;). Let me be more specific about the question: - In my program (again using Albert's TNAPI program as base), after it opens the socket connection to the telnet port, it sends a string of special characters to start a VT100 conversation. I'm assuming that this special string of character is basically asking AS400 to talk with this client program using the VT100 protocol. - Are you saying that there is another special string of character that I can send to the telnet server to request AS400 to talk with this client program using 5250 protocol? -----Original Message----- From: rpg400-l-bounces+lim.hock-chai=usamobility.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:rpg400-l-bounces+lim.hock-chai=usamobility.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Scott Klement Sent: Monday, March 20, 2006 12:01 PM To: RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries Subject: RE: Writing a VT100 client (was Getting compile error: *RNF5343 3021002100 Array) No. 5250 is an IBM terminal, VT100 is a DEC terminal. There's absolutely no relationship between them, other than both being terminals :)
