I read this sentence again just after I clicked on Send for my previous

If your C server communication module could prepare an RPG varying
length unicode string, then the RPG program would be simple. Assuming
the C server module knows the length of the data:
typedef struct
{
unsigned short len;
char data[16383];
} rpgUnicodeVarying_t;
void rpgproc (rpgUnicodeVarying_t *parm);
rpgUnicodeVarying_t rpgparm;
rpgparm.len = bytes / 2;
memcpy(rpgparm.data, unicodedata, bytes);
rpgproc (&rpgparm);
RPG:
D rpgproc pr
D parm 16383c varying const
/free
databasefield = parm;
