stored procedures returning array result sets

Hello,
 
Does anyone have an easy way to return multiple array result sets from
an external RPG stored procedure?  I know how to return multiple cursor
result sets, but only 1 array result set is allowed to be returned from
a procedure. 
 
We have done it using temporary DDS files, and know we can do it by
using SQL CREATE TABLE, INSERT, and them setting the cursor from that
table.
 
I'm just curious if anyone has an easier way.
