Try using WITH like so:
WITH Categories as (Select STUNNO, CASE ...end as Category from MYFILE)
Select Category,<summary functions> from MYFILE a join Categories b on
a.STUNNO = b.STUNNO group by Category
I haven't actually executed this statement, so there may be errors, but I
think this is close.

It states that Location doesn't exist. I understand why I get this
message, but I'm wondering how can I get this to work. If I'm able too.
