Jake,Kevin's book is, indeed, a pretty good source for learning subfile programming. Michael Catalani's book (Subfiles for RPG Programmers) is fairly good, but it was written using RPG/400.
Code Designer, while a good tool for actually laying out the panels/formats, is not, IMO, a good source for learning how to write and design subfile programs. You pretty much have to know (or suspect) a little something, at least, before you get that far.

Hello All; Is Code Designer a good way to start learning to code Subfiles? If so, is there a red book out there that somebody knows of? Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. cheers, Jake. -- This is the RPG programming on the AS400 / iSeries (RPG400-L) mailing list To post a message email: RPG400-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/rpg400-l or email: RPG400-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/rpg400-l.
