If you have FastFax software loaded onto your system, there is another way to accomplish this. Here is what I did: * Changed the calling CL to have: OVRPRTF FILE(QPRINT) OUTQ(FASTFAX/FFXOTQAPI) * Since we still wanted hard copy to print, I created a 2nd splf (in this case QPRINT) with output similar to hard copy splf, but with special characters in the "header" area, as shown here OQPRINT E HDG2 2 01 O 4 '*DSE' O 10 '*EM' O CEEMAL 60 O 70 '*FC' O BCARNA 105 O 125 '*RFLoad Assignment If you have FastFax, you can check your user manual and get more information. In this example, field CEEMAL is a 50 character fld used to store email address, and BCARNA represents a 30A recipient name. You will need the "*DSE" and "*EM" codes. The "*FC" code indicates the name of the recipient, The "*RF" is the special character used to indicate the email subject. None of the special codes (with asterisk in 1st position) will print on the actual document. The sender of the email (pgm user) I think does need to be set up in FastFax as a user. The report automatically gets converted into a PDF and sent. No doubt there are other software vendors with some elegant solutions. Warren S.
