Another option is to not use ADDLIBLE at all. Since you are already using USROPN use EXTFILE(MyVar). Then you can construct MyVar to be the library from the trigger, a slash, and the desired file. Sample TRIGLIB/MYFILE. Then instead of having to handle any errors from QCMDEXC or system() you can handle it on the OPEN statement. Maybe even a nanosecond faster? Rob Berendt
